How to unlock Mei-Chin in Enshrouded Pact of the Flame Update

Starting the Quest to Find Mei-Chin

 

     Before you can unlock Mei-Chin, you’ll need to speak to Cade Hawthorn, the Carpenter. If you’ve recently logged in after the update, head back to your base and talk to Cade. He will give you a quest called Ringing in the New Year, which starts your journey to locate Mei.

 

     

 

     Cade will explain that Mei was once a well-known trader who specialized in Lunar New Year decorations and that she has gone missing somewhere within the Shroud. This means that you’ll need to venture into dangerous territory to find her remains. Make sure to bring plenty of supplies, including Shroud Flasks, bandages, and weapons - this won’t be a simple stroll through the woods.

 

 

Finding Mei-Chin’s Location

 

     Mei-Chin is located in the Low Meadows, northwest of the Low Meadows Ancient Spire and east of Braelyn Bridge. If you haven’t explored this region yet, prepare for an adventure. The area is crawling with Shroud enemies, and they won’t be happy to see you snooping around.

 

 

     When you arrive at the marked location, look for a glowing red pile of bones. This is all that remains of Mei, and your objective is to rescue her soul. However, before you can do that, you’ll need to clear out the enemies guarding the area. Be cautious - some of these foes are stronger than the usual Shroud creatures, and they may overwhelm you if you’re unprepared.

 

 

     Once the area is clear, interact with Mei’s bones to rescue her soul. You are now ready to bring her back to life at your base.

 

 

Summoning Mei-Chin at Your Base

 

     With Mei’s soul in your possession, return to your base and use the Summoning Staff to bring her back. However, before she can fully integrate into your settlement, you’ll need to build a bed for her. This can be done by crafting one at a workbench and placing it in a suitable spot.

 

 

     Once the bed is assigned, interact with Mei, and she will officially become a part of your settlement. Congratulations! You’ve successfully unlocked Mei-Chin as a trader.

 

 

What Can You Craft with Mei-Chin?

 

     Now that Mei is available, she will provide access to exclusive Lunar New Year-themed crafting recipes. These include:
