How to Tame a Panther in Soulmask
Ready to add some serious speed to your game? We're talking about taming one of the swiftest and coolest mounts out there – the panther! Yeah, it’s a bit risky, but totally worth it. Follow this guide to learn how to track, trap, and tame your very own cat in Soulmask.

Big Cat
First things first, you gotta be prepared. To even think about taming a panther, you need to be at least level 20 in Awareness Strength. Unlock the Habit Analysis mask repair node, which will help you track these elusive creatures. You’ll also need three Green Crystals to activate this node.

Make sure you’ve hit the Bronze Age to craft the essential Panther Saddle. Here’s what you’ll need to make that saddle:
- 19 x Leather
- 10 x Leather Ropes
- 10 x Fine Cotton
- 5 x Bronze Ingots

Tracking Panthers
Head to the northwestern part of the starter isle.

This area is a panther hotspot. Equip your Habit Analysis and press ‘Q’ to start detecting tracks. Look for blue-highlighted footprints on the ground.

These will lead you to a female panther. Stay low and quiet – use ‘Ctrl’ to crouch and reduce noise. The goal is to find a female panther that will eventually lead you to her cubs.

Setting the Trap
Once you’ve located the female panther and her cubs, it’s time to set up a trap. You’ll need a Medium Trap, which you can craft at a Building Workshop with these materials:
- 15 x Hardwood
- 5 x Planks
- 19 x Thatch
- 5 x Thick Rope
Place the trap in your shortcut slots for quick access. Drop the trap on the ground near the panther’s den and bait it with fresh meat – raw meat works best. Now, back off! You need to be far enough away that the panther doesn’t detect you. Wait patiently for the cub to wander into the trap.

Taming the Cub: Careful, Mama’s Watching!
Once the cub is trapped, you need to be quick but cautious. Approach and press ‘E’ to tame it. Make sure the mother panther isn’t around when you do this, or you’ll be in for a fight. Wait for her to wander off before you make your move. Once tamed, pick up your new panther cub and head back to your camp.

Riding Your New Mount
Back at your camp, feed your new pet in the Feed Trough to help it grow. Unlock the Panther Saddle from the Knowledge & Technology menu, found under the Bronze Gear tech branch. You need Awareness Strength 25 and two Tech Points to unlock it. Craft the saddle at a Level 1 Armor Forging Table. Attach the saddle to your panther and voilà! You now have one of the fastest mounts in Soulmask.

Taming a panther in Soulmask is no easy feat, but with patience and the right preparations, you can do it! This speedy mount will make your travels across the island much quicker and a lot more exciting. So gear up, stay stealthy, and enjoy the thrill of riding your very own big cat.
