How to Summon Malugaz the Corrupted in Core Keeper 1.0

Finding Malugaz's Throne Room

First things first, locating Malugaz’s throne room is key. Head to the Forgotten Ruins biome, where Malugaz hides out. Unlike other bosses, Malugaz isn’t just wandering around waiting to be fought. Instead, you have to summon him using a special item. The throne room is hidden deep within these ruins, so you might need to explore a bit to find it. It’s typically located about 350 steps away from the Core, often outside of the Ghorm the Devourer’s territory. The arena is a decent-sized circle, so keep your eyes peeled!

Skull of Corrupted Shaman

To summon Malugaz, you need a Crystal Skull, which you can craft from 10 Crystal Skull Shards. These shards drop from the shaman creatures scattered throughout the Forgotten Ruins. Gather your shards and head to your crafting area. Combine the shards by placing them in your Hotbar and right-clicking to create the Skull of the Corrupted Shaman. No crafting table required—just your trusty Hotbar and holding right mouse button!

Preparing for the Battle

Before you toss that Skull onto the throne, make sure you’re prepped and ready. The battle against Malugaz is no walk in the park, so gear up!

     1. Smash up the pillars and ancient crates in the throne room. This extra space will be crucial for dodging Malugaz's fiery attacks.

     2. Light up the arena with torches. Visibility is key, especially during the chaotic first phase of the fight.

     3. Equip your best gear. A Swift Feather is a must for quick dashes, and buffing potions can provide that extra edge. Consider using ranged weapons if you prefer to keep a safe distance from Malugaz’s fiery wrath.

The Battle Phases

Malugaz the Corrupted is a two-phase boss, so be ready for a challenging encounter!

Phase One: Malugaz starts off by hurling fireballs at you and creating persistent flames in a 3x3 area. Stay on the move and dodge these attacks. His teleportation can make it tricky to track him, so be vigilant!

Phase Two: After depleting his health in Phase One, Malugaz rips off his cloak, revealing a flaming skull. He will now teleport frequently and use powerful melee punches that cause massive fire damage in a larger area. This phase is all about dodging and hitting from a distance. If you die here, you’ll have to start the fight over from the beginning!

Combat Strategy

With all the fire attacks and teleportation, you need to be agile. Destroying pillars and placing torches will help you navigate the arena more effectively.

Ranged vs. Melee: While melee weapons can be effective, ranged weapons often provide a safer approach. Use your strongest ranged weapons to deal damage while keeping your distance during Phase Two.
