How to Summon Glurch the Abominous Mass in Core Keeper 1.0
Finding Glurch the Abominous Mass
To summon Glurch, you need to locate his lair in the Undergrounds. Start from The Core and dig exactly 65 tiles in any direction until you start hearing a loud, rhythmic thumping sound.

That’s Glurch getting ready to bounce! As you get closer, the screen will shake more violently, indicating you're near his domain. Look for an area blanketed in slime – that’s where Glurch hangs out.

Summoning Glurch
Once you've pinpointed Glurch’s slime-covered lair, it’s time to summon him if you haven’t encountered him before. Glurch doesn’t need a special summoning ritual; just dig out the slime area and engage him directly. If you’ve already defeated him and want to fight him again, you can use a Giant Slime Summoning Idol.

Place this idol on the rune located beneath his original spawn point to bring him back into the fray. You can buy this idol from the Caveling Merchant after you’ve bested Ghorm the Devourer.
Glurch's Behavior
Glurch is a big, angry slime with some unique quirks. At full health, he’s not too aggressive – he’ll only attack if you come within a 6-tile radius. Once you start hitting him, that range expands to 15 tiles. He leaps towards the closest player, dealing damage and leaving behind a patch of Ground Slime that slows you down. Glurch can also destroy any non-indestructible objects in his path, so hiding behind walls won’t work!

When Glurch drops below 30% health, he’ll go into a rage mode, moving much faster and becoming a real challenge. If you manage to move out of his range or if he travels too far from his rune (more than 25 tiles), he’ll return to his spawn point and regenerate health at a rate of 10% every 5 seconds. So, keep the pressure on and stay close!
Preparing for Battle
Before you charge into battle, make sure you’re well-prepared. Equip yourself with at least a full set of copper gear – helmet, chestplate, pants, and sword. Glurch deals 50 damage per hit, so you’ll need all the protection you can get. A Stoneskin Potion can also be a lifesaver, providing extra armor.

Speed is crucial, so grow Bomb Peppers and cook up some spicy food to boost your movement speed. Heart Berries increase your max HP, so stock up on those and mix them in your Cooking Pot for a health boost.
Bombs are handy against Glurch due to his limited movement. Drop a bomb when he’s about to leap – it’ll land right on him if timed correctly. A ranged weapon, like a Wood Bow found in wooden crates, can also help you attack from a safe distance. Just be sure to keep dodging and firing!
Combat Strategy
When fighting Glurch, avoid the slime-covered floor if possible – it slows you down and makes dodging his attacks tougher. Remove or replace as much of the slime around the arena as you can using a shovel before starting the fight.
In melee combat, hit Glurch with a couple of swings when he lands from a jump, then move away quickly. This method is risky, especially for new players, so it’s generally safer to use ranged attacks.
Remember, Glurch destroys any walls or structures in his way, so keep the arena as open as possible to avoid being cornered.
Loot and Rewards
After defeating Glurch, you’ll earn some sweet loot! The primary item you’ll receive is the Glurch Eye, essential for progressing in the game. This item helps power the Core and allows crafting of unique items like the Slime Sword. Other drops include Slime Oil, which can summon the Bearded Merchant to your base, and various pieces of gear and crafting materials such as the Melting Crystal Ring and Blob Rosary Necklace.

Summoning and defeating Glurch the Abominous Mass is a thrilling milestone in Core Keeper 1.0. With the right preparation, gear, and strategy, you’ll not only summon this squishy menace but also emerge victorious. So grab your gear, head to the Undergrounds, and get ready to turn Glurch into a puddle of goo!
