How to Summon Bonemass in Valheim

Valheim presents players with a challenging world filled with formidable creatures and epic boss battles. Bonemass, the third world boss in Valheim, is no exception.

 

 

Bonemass's Location

 

Bonemass does not spawn naturally in the game world. To confront this formidable foe, you must summon it at a Bonemass Mystical Altar. These altars are scattered across the Valheim map, and you'll need to locate one to initiate the battle.

 

 

Bonemass is typically found in Swamp biomes, so your first step is to explore these areas. Keep an eye out for runestones, which can be discovered both in Swamp regions and within Sunken Crypts found in specific Swamp biomes. However, before you can access the Sunken Crypts and confront Bonemass, you must defeat the previous boss, The Elder.

 

 

Altar

 

Once you've identified the location on your map, head to the area where Bonemass's Mystical Altar is situated. You can easily spot it as it appears as a giant skull emerging from the ground.

 

 

To summon Bonemass, you'll need to make an offering at the respective Mystical Altar. In the case of Bonemass, this requires placing ten Withered Bones on the altar. These bones can be found in abundance within the Sunken Crypts and Muddy Scrap Piles within Swamp biomes.

 

 

Collect the required ten Withered Bones, then return to the marked Bonemass Altar on your map. Clear the area of any potential threats to ensure a safe boss encounter. Bonemass has a tendency to summon additional companion enemies during the fight.

 

 

With the bones in your inventory, place them in your hotbar and use the corresponding number key with your cursor over the Altar to summon Bonemass and initiate the boss fight.
