How to Run Water Treatment Rust
The Water Treatment Plant in Rust is a massive monument that holds significant loot but can also be one of the most dangerous areas on the map due to its size and the constant threat of PvP combat.

Gear Preparation
- Hazmat Suit: The Water Treatment Plant has areas with radiation, particularly in the sewer, on the large water tower, and inside the main puzzle room.

- Burlap Clothing: If you're passing through the area or going for easily accessible loot crates, basic burlap clothing is suitable. However, be quick and cautious as you'll be an easy target.

- Weapons: While there are no aggressive NPCs in the monument, the area is popular among other players on the server. If you're on a populated server, bring weaponry for self-defense.

Loot Opportunities
The Water Treatment Plant has around 20 to 25 crates, excluding medical crates. While most of the goods are accessible in unrestricted areas, those aiming to plunder the puzzle room in this Monument will need to procure a Blue Keycard and Electric Fuse.

Blue Keycards can spawn in the Sewer Branch, Satellite Dish, and Harbor, or they can be purchased from the Outpost for Scrap. Electric Fuses randomly spawn within crates and barrels and have a slight chance of being dropped by a Scientist.

Once players have these two items, they'll be ready to solve the Water Treatment Plant Puzzle in Rust.
Layout and Features
The Water Treatment Plant is designed with numerous corridors, drained water vats, a large tower, smaller "Crow's Nest" towers, and sniper positions on a hill north of the plant itself.

The design includes obstructing objects, sharp corners, and blocked lines of sight, making it a potential hotspot for PvP combat. Some of the vats are partially or fully covered by the uneven ground, and players can explore the concrete sewers and the moat lower than the ground level.

For those seeking loot without radiation exposure, there's a useful tip for the parkour tower. You can acquire one of the medical/food crates in the tower without receiving any radiation. Simply face the ladder, go left, hug the wall, and carefully make your way to the crate.
To end
The Water Treatment Plant in Rust offers valuable loot but also poses significant risks due to player competition and the potential for PvP combat. Proper gear preparation, knowledge of crate locations, and understanding the layout of the monument are crucial for successful loot runs.
