How to Make a Smelter in Valheim
Elevate your Valheim journey by mastering the art of ore refinement through crafting a smelter. This essential structure unlocks the potential of raw materials, allowing you to forge powerful weapons and tools.

Surtling Cores
Begin your quest by venturing into the depths of burial chambers scattered across the Black Forest biome.

These chambers hold the key to smelting success - Surtling Cores. Prepare yourself for encounters with skeletal foes as you scour these ancient crypts for the precious cores.

Crafting a Smelter
Once you've secured the necessary Surtling Cores, return to your settlement and gather the required materials: 20 Stones and 5 Surtling Cores.

With these in hand, visit your trusty workbench and access the crafting menu to fashion the smelter. Take a Hammer and right-click mouse button. Choose the Smelter from the panel and place it at your base.

Using the Smelter
Position your newly crafted smelter strategically within your settlement. Load coal into the designated compartment on the right and place your ore of choice on the left. As the smelter roars to life, watch as it transforms raw ore into valuable metal bars, ready to be forged into formidable weapons and sturdy armor.

By mastering the construction of a smelter, you unlock the gateway to advanced crafting in Valheim. Harness the power of refined ore to forge a legacy worthy of Odin's favor and conquer the challenges that await in the untamed wilderness.
