How to Get Solder in Abiotic Factor
Ingredients
To create Solder, you need three key materials: Silver Scrap, Metal Scrap, and Water.
- Silver Scrap: Found in the Train Portal within Manufacturing West. It is also part of the Replacement Parts quest, so keep an eye out as you progress.

- Metal Scrap: Obtained by breaking down vent panels scattered across the game world.
- Water: Accessible from water coolers, sinks, or bathrooms. Use the action key (F) to package it.
Cooking Solder
Once the materials are gathered, it’s time to cook Solder.
Find or Craft a Pot: Pots can often be found on stoves throughout the game. If unavailable, craft one at the Crafting Bench using two Staplers and three Metal Scraps.

Fill the Pot with clean water: Ensure you have some drink water, or you can purify tainted water.
Prepare the Stove: Place the pot with water on the stove and add Silver Scrap and Metal Scrap.
Wait for Cooked Solder: Allow the mixture to cook. This takes time, so patience is key.

Solder: Put the Cooked Solder on any surface and take some portions from the pot.

Using Solder
Solder serves several important functions in Abiotic Factor:
- Trading: Exchange Solder with the Blacksmith to acquire Fiber Optic Cables, essential for repairing electron pumps.

- Crafting: Solder is used to create items like the Healing Briefcase and paint.
It’s important to note that Solder can only be made on a stove, so ensure you have access to one before heading out to craft.
Obtaining Solder in Abiotic Factor involves gathering specific materials, using a pot, and cooking the mixture over a stove. By following these steps, you can craft this key material to trade, craft, and advance the storyline. With a reliable supply of Solder, you’ll be well-prepared to tackle challenges and complete essential quests.
