Unlocking New Building Materials

At first, you need to unlock new building materials. The latest update introduces a variety of materials like Bone Blocks, Desert City Wall Blocks, and Luminescent Blocks. To get these, you’ll need to complete quests or craft items using resources found across Embervale.

For example, Bone Blocks require Bones, while Desert City Wall Blocks need Sandstone from Brittlebush. Pay attention to the lore notes and quest markers—they’ll lead you to the materials and recipes you need.

New to this update is the Mixed Sandstone Block, a fresh addition to the Nomad Highlands crafting tier. You can find the recipe for this versatile block in the Scavenger Outpost.

Mixed Sandstone Blocks blend different textures, making them perfect for creating intricate designs and adding depth to your builds.

Crafting Essentials

Before you start building, make sure you have a Workbench set up. This is your crafting hub where you’ll turn raw materials into the blocks you need. For instance, you’ll craft Fired Bricks by smelting Clay in the Kiln. Similarly, you can make Bronze Blocks from Bronze Bars, which are crafted from Copper and Tin Bars. Keep your Workbench stocked and ready to roll so you can craft on the fly.

The Construction Hammer is your best friend for building in Enshrouded. Hit TAB or LT to enter Building Mode and use the hammer to place down blocks, foundations, and more. You can scroll through different shapes and materials using the controls to find the perfect fit for your build. Don’t forget that the Construction Hammer also allows you to sculpt terrain, which is super handy for creating custom landscapes.

Combining Materials for Unique Builds

Mix and match different building materials to give your creations a unique flair. For example, combine Rough Wood Blocks with Fancy Stone Blocks to add texture and contrast to your structures. If you’re going for a sleek look, use Highly Polished Stone Blocks or Metal Blocks. For a rustic vibe, incorporate Rough Flintstone Blocks or Shroud Wood Blocks. Experiment with combinations to find what looks best!

Building Techniques

For larger structures, use scaffolds to reach higher areas. Place them down and stack them to climb up, making it easier to work on tall buildings. If you’re looking to add intricate details or make quick adjustments, you can place and remove blocks individually without the Construction Hammer.

With the "Back to Shroud" update, Enshrouded has expanded your building possibilities like never before. By unlocking new materials, mastering crafting, and experimenting with different techniques, you can create stunning structures and customize your world in exciting ways. So, grab your Construction Hammer, gather your materials, and let your creativity run wild in Embervale!
