     Your quest for the elusive Fossil Gastropods kicks off at the Ancient Spire in Revelwood. From here, you’ll need to cross the eerie Shroud area. The trick to making it through is to glide along the Shroud’s northern border. This scenic glide will bring you closer to your destination. Once you’re nearing the right spot, simply ascend to the target location. If you’re a fan of landmarks, look out for Thornhold village—this will guide you along the right path. Head east from Thornhold and keep your eyes peeled for any clues.

 

    

 

Optional Stop in “Old Rye”

 

     While you’re cruising through the Shroud area, you might want to make a pit stop at the Old Rye Trade Outpost. This spot is worth checking out because it’s another place where you can find a Fossil if you haven’t already collected one. But, a word of caution—this outpost is teeming with enemies. If you’re not up for a fight, it’s okay to skip this and save it for another time when you’re better equipped.

 

    

 

Fossil Gastropods

 

     Now, onto the real treasure hunt! Your Fossil Gastropods are hidden in a serene, overgrown woodland area. Here, you’ll find some abandoned houses. These houses are overrun by poisonous mushrooms, but they’re also hiding something much more valuable inside. Look carefully for hidden rooms containing silver chests. This is where your Fossil Gastropods are waiting for you.

 

    

 

Descending into the Shroud-Filled Hole

 

     Near the abandoned houses, you’ll come across a hole in the Earth filled with Shroud. This is the key location where you’ll find the red emission of Fossil Gastropods. You don’t need to dig around to find them—just descend into the hole and look for the glow.

 

    

     If you’ve got a pickaxe with you, take some time to explore the area. This hole is also rich in amber, so you might want to mine some as you’re there. The pile where you find the Fossil is itself made of amber, making it a doubly rewarding spot.
