How to Get and Use Metal Detector in Palworld Feybreak Update

Crafting

The Metal Detector is a key addition in the Feybreak update. It makes possible gathering the Chromite.

Before you can use the Metal Detector, you’ll need to craft it. Unlocking this tool requires reaching Technology Level 56.

Once you’ve achieved this milestone, gather the following materials:

     - Plasteel x30

     - Paldium Fragment x100

     - Circuit Board x30

     - Nightstar Sand x20

Nightstar Sand can be found on Feybreak Island. Look for its glowing light near beaches or sandy terrains at night. Equip your Pal for faster exploration, as Nightstar Sand is easier to spot in the dark.

Once you’ve collected the materials, head to the Production Assembly Line II crafting bench to create your Metal Detector.

Using the Metal Detector

The Metal Detector helps locate hidden ores like Chromite. When active, the device emits beeps that intensify as you approach a resource. Additionally, its color shifts from blue to red when you’re close to a deposit. Once the detector pinpoints an ore, Chromite reveals itself with a smoky effect, marking it ready for extraction.

To operate the Metal Detector effectively, equip it and walk around Feybreak Island’s hotspots. Stay attentive to the sound and visual signals, as they guide you to the exact location of hidden resources.

Best Locations for Chromite

Chromite is primarily found on Feybreak Island in specific caves and open areas. If you are not in mood to exploration by yourself, check the next coordinates: (-811, -825), (-816, -1090), (-868, -1163). Activate your Metal Detector, and mine the nodes once they appear.

Another option is exploring the Scorched Hill Zone, which has a high concentration of Chromite deposits.

Alternatives to the Metal Detector

If you’re unable to craft the Metal Detector immediately, Smokie, the new canine Pal, offers a similar functionality. Smokie’s passive skill automatically detects Chromite and marks it for you. To maximize its utility, ensure Smokie is outside its Pal Sphere during exploration.

Tips for Efficient Resource Gathering

Always carry a sturdy pickaxe to extract Chromite once the Metal Detector locates it. Plan your exploration during the day for better visibility in caves or at night to spot glowing Nightstar Sand more easily. Setting up a base near high-yield areas can save time and allow repeated mining.

Chromite is essential for crafting Hexolite Ore, a key component in high-tier gear and weapons. Each Hexolite crafting recipe requires five Chromite, along with other materials. Stockpiling Chromite ensures you’re prepared for late-game crafting needs.

The Metal Detector is an invaluable tool in Palworld’s Feybreak update, simplifying the process of finding rare resources like Chromite. By crafting it early and using it strategically, you can enhance your resource-gathering efficiency and support your progression in the game.
