How to Fish in Core Keeper 1.0

Finding the Rod

Before you cast your line, you’ll need a fishing rod. Don’t worry if you don’t have one yet—exploring the underground can surprise you with finds.

Alternative, if you already have Copper Workbench. Interact with it and spend 5 Wood to craft a simple Fishing Rod.

Wood Fishing Rods are basic but handy, offering +21 fishing and a durability of 50. For something with a bit more oomph, craft a Tin Fishing Rod, which boosts your fishing.

Casting and Reeling

Place the rod in your hotbar, find a body of water. Approach the water, equip your rod, and cast your line holding Right Mouse Button action button.

If the bobber doesn’t land in the water, don’t fret—your character will reel it back in. But if it lands successfully, wait for the "bloop" sound, which signals a bite.

Hit the secondary action button again to start reeling in. Keep the fish indicator in the green by holding the button when it’s in color and releasing when it turns red to avoid snapping the line.
