How to defeat Talzur the Winged Horror in V Rising Oakveil Update
You step onto the rocky ledges of the Dreaded Peak as night falls, the wind howling your arrival. Talzur the Winged Horror circles overhead, his crimson eyes glowing in the moonlight as his massive wings beat storms of fire and ice into the mountainside. This is no ground skirmish but a battle of wits and patience against a monster that prefers to keep you at arm’s length.

Preparation
Gather your Bloodmoon armor, load your hotbar with ranged weapons and chaos spells, and slot in jewels that cleanse burning and chilling debuffs. Bring relenting healing like Blood Rose potions and drink a Potion of Rage for burst damage. Keep a dash ability like Veil of Chaos ready so you can double-dash away from flare charges and crater-forming fire breaths. Scholar Blood is ideal for spell power but if you need extra burst healing go with Brute Blood.

Location
Talzur nests atop the Dreaded Peak in eastern Farbane Woods, reachable only with Bat Form.

Fast-travel to the northeastern waygate then transform into a bat and follow the mountain’s spires skyward. Land on the jagged summit as evening clouds swirl below you, revealing the arena’s broken ruins where the Horror awaits.
Phase one
Talzur opens the fight with Chaos Volley-style fireballs and Y-shaped icicle barrages that scorch and freeze the earth. Keep your distance and weave through the gaps in each volley, then return fire with your crossbow or chaos spells.

When the Horror flares a stream of flame onto the ground, sidestep out of the scorched zone and counterattack once it finishes channeling. Its retreat behavior means if you close the gap too eagerly Talzur will skulk away and force you to chase.

Phase two
At seventy percent health Talzur gains new tricks. He batters the air with wing gusts that spread burning ground and drops fireballs across the battlefield in a sweeping flight path. Watch the sky for his flight arch, then dodge through the swath of flame.

When a Frost Vortex roars to life, step clear of the swirling snow or cleanse the chill with a power surge. Patience stays your sword - pressure him from range while avoiding both elemental storms.

Phase three
Below fifty percent health the Horror’s fireball volleys intensify into four rotating arcs and ice vortexes slam around him. A gust knockback will push you toward scorching ground if you linger, so dash into safe gaps or use a barrier to block the flames.

When Talzur’s final fury charges across the field, leap aside or counter to avoid the panic-inducing tail whip that follows. Now is the moment to unload your ultimate and finish the fiend before the mountain trembles beneath his roar.

With Talzur’s massive frame collapsing into the broken stones, claim the Soul Shard of the Winged Horror and place it on its pedestal. You have mastered the dance of fire and frost on the Dreaded Peak and stand one step closer to challenging Dracula himself.
