     You’ve heard the rumors of a cloaked wanderer hiding among travelers and striking with deadly precision. Bane the Shadowblade is a master infiltrator and dagger expert who’ll vanish at the slightest provocation and summon skeletons if you hit the wrong target. Gear up, steady your nerves, and let’s track down this trickster before he disappears again.

 

 

 

Finding Bane

 

     Bane doesn’t lurk in a fixed lair but blends in with hooded figures along the winding roads of Dunley Farmlands. Keep your eyes peeled for the V Blood icon overhead rather than the generic traveler name.

 

 

     He often circles between the northern waygate and Dawnbreak Village, pausing near ruined cabins and crossroads. Once you see that purple mist glow on one of the cloaked figures, you know you’ve found the real deal.

 

 

 

Engaging the fight

 

     As soon as you strike, Bane unshrouds and the battle begins. He’ll dart in for three quick slashes, the third lunge incapacitating you for two seconds if you stay too close.

 

 

     Step back or dash sideways to avoid the triple slash combo, then close in for a counterattack. Watch out for his dash-and-throw attack - he’ll vanish, reappear behind you, and hurl three knives in a fan that each freeze on hit. Dodge immediately when you see him fade or use a veil ability to i‑frame through the blade storm.

 

 

Key abilities

 

     Bane’s signature move is “Into the shadows” where he blends into several clones. Only the real Bane glows with a faint purple aura - hit a wrong clone and skeletons flood in.

 

 

     Quickly cleave through the cloaked figures until the true shadowblade emerges, then focus all damage on him. At half health he gains “Shadow clone,” spawning a lingering phantom that repeats his knife throw - destroy the phantom fast or get triple‑frozen.

 

 

 

Rewards

 

     Defeat Bane and you unlock the Veil of Bones spell to vanish and slip through doors, the Human Form vampire power for undercover sneaking, and the Daggers blueprint for crafting mid‑range throwing weapons. You’ll also gain a tier 1 Unholy spell point and a small coin purse recipe so you can carry more silver without getting cursed.
