How to defeat Azariel the Sunbringer in V Rising Oakveil Update

Stepping into the hushed shadows of Brighthaven Cathedral feels like plunging into a storm of golden light and echoing chants, your heart pounding as stained glass windows cast dancing prisms across ancient stone. Imagine the weight of your gear settling on your shoulders, the distant hum of divine energy vibrating in your veins as you approach the towering arches. Every footstep rings out like a drumbeat heralding the clash to come against Azariel the Sunbringer, the radiant zealot whose power can scorch flesh and shatter resolve.

Location

Brighthaven Cathedral perches on a hill in the western Silverlight Hills, the spires rising against a pale sky like fingers reaching for the sun. You’ll spot the waygate marker on your map glowing blue - follow winding forest paths dotted with crumbling shrines until the grand bronze doors loom ahead. Watch for patrolling Paladins in white and gold plate as you slip through side corridors or creep in Rat Form to avoid their vigilant gaze. Once inside, holy radiation crackles in the air and two glowing pillars stand sentinel at the nave entrance, a warning that you’ve crossed into Azariel’s domain.

Equipment

You’ll want to polish your Dark Silver Sword to a mirror sheen and strap on the Grim Knight armor set for a solid mix of defense and mobility. Swap out trivial cloaks for the Veil of Chaos to blur incoming beams, and load your hotbar with Power Surge for quick shields and Crimson Beam for ranged burst.

Pack a Holy Resistance Flask - ideally the upgraded large version - and sling a Blood Rage potion on your belt for those clutch moments when you need to turn pain into power. Don’t forget Scholar Blood to amp up your spells and a stack of Greater Stygian Shards to resurrect midfight if things get too heated.

Fight

Azariel opens with sweeping arcs of holy beams that burst from his staff in expanding cones, forcing you to weave between light and shadow. Dodge toward side pews to slip through the gaps, then strike back with a charged slash or spell volley. At half health he summons glowing Holy Totems that render him invulnerable until they shatter - focus them first with Chaos Volley or a flurry of melee hits, then circle back to land your own blows.

When he raises his staff skyward you’ll see golden spears fall in radial patterns - roll away from the impact zones and counterattack while he recovers. Watch for summoned Brazers that tether to Azariel and rain slow explosions; kill them swiftly or kite them with Crimson Beam to break his shield link. Keep your shield and dash ready, and remember that every dodge builds momentum toward your final strike.

Rewards

Draining Azariel’s V Blood grants you the Power Surge Vampire Power and the Gold Ingot recipe. Power Surge washes away debuffs, slaps a hefty shield on you or an ally, and boosts speed and attack rate - perfect for clutch revivals or turning the tide in group runs. Gold Ingots let you craft late-game castle decorations at the advanced furnace, though they’re optional if you’re focused purely on combat mastery. Pocket both treasures and bask in the glow of your triumph.

Charging out of Brighthaven Cathedral with Azariel’s V Blood coursing through your veins, you’ve proven that no beam of light can blind a determined vampire. Keep your flasks stocked, your spells sharp, and remember that every defeat is just another spark fueling your next victory. Now go forth and let the legend of the Sunbringer’s fall echo across Vardoran.
