Unlock and craft  fertilizer

 

     To get started, you’ll need access to the Herbalism Bench and unlock the fertilizer at Tier 2 of your Technologies Tree. The recipe requires one basic fertilizer and either inert or volatile substance. Both work, but volatile is a little easier to come by if you’re using spoiled foods or compost tricks.

 

 

     You’ll also want to have a stockpile of wood and biomass running through your compost bin to generate the base ingredients. Once you’ve got your materials, drop them into the bench and start crafting. Each batch gives you one Progenative Fertilizer, and it’s worth it when you see what it does to your crops.

 

 

 

How it works

 

     When applied to a crop plot or dirt mound, it gives that plant a buff that lasts about 20 minutes. During this time, any crops harvested from that plot will give you a 300% seed yield. That means instead of getting a couple seeds, you get a whole handful. But there’s a twist - you don’t get the actual crop from that harvest. It’s a trade-off. You’re telling the plant, hey, I don’t need food right now, I just want seeds. Perfect for prepping a big garden or farming recipes that rely on oils or seed-based crafting. You’ll see the buff icon pop up as soon as you apply the fertilizer, so you know it’s active.

 

 

     Once you’ve crafted the fertilizer, equip it to your hotbar, walk up to your crop plot, and press the use button to spread it. Easy as that. The plot will flash and a buff icon will appear, confirming that the fertilizer is doing its thing. Now just wait until the crops are fully grown, then harvest them. You don’t need any special sickle for this method - any tool will work, even your hands. The moment you pick the crops, you’ll notice a big boost in seeds dropping into your inventory. Just keep in mind that the fertilizer won’t work forever, so try to time it close to when the crop is mature.
