How to Build a Particle Accelerator in Satisfactory Release 1.0
Particle Accelerator
The Particle Accelerator is a late-game building used to craft high-end materials like Plutonium Pellets and Nuclear Pasta. It’s a complex machine that demands significant resources and power, but the rewards are worth the effort. The accelerator is unique because its power consumption fluctuates based on what you’re crafting. It starts low and ramps up to its peak as the recipe progresses.

Gathering Resources
Before you can assemble your Particle Accelerator, you need a hefty list of ingredients:
- 50 Quickwire: Caterium’s high conductivity, produced in Constructor and Crafting Bench.
- 10 Supercomputers: You’ll need to complete the Leading Edge Production milestone to craft these.
- 50 Cooling Systems: Crafted after completing the Advanced Aluminum Production milestone.
- 20 Fused Modular Frames: Created using the Blender, once the Advanced Aluminum Production milestone is achieved.
- 10 Turbo Motors: These require the Leading Edge Production milestone.

Once you have all these materials, you’re ready to build!
Building the Particle Accelerator
Head to your factory and start the construction of the Particle Accelerator. Place it with a bit of planning as it’s a sizable structure. The machine measures about 24 meters wide and 32 meters high, so make sure you have plenty of space. If you're building multiple units, make sure to space them out to avoid interference and make logistics easier.

Powering Up
The Particle Accelerator is notorious for its fluctuating power needs. Depending on the recipe you select, the power draw will start at a lower level and ramp up significantly. For example, crafting Nuclear Pasta starts at 500 MW and peaks at 1500 MW. You’ll need to plan your power grid accordingly.

To handle these power demands, consider setting up Power Storages. These help manage the inconsistent power draw. Each Particle Accelerator will need about 2.5 Power Storages for recipes like Plutonium Pellet or Instant Plutonium Cell, and 5 Power Storages for Nuclear Pasta.
Overclocking Your Accelerator
If you want to speed things up, you can overclock your Particle Accelerator using Power Shards. Overclocking boosts the machine’s speed but increases its power consumption. Here’s a quick breakdown:
- 10% Overclock: 20 minutes per Nuclear Pasta
- 50% Overclock: 4 minutes per Nuclear Pasta
- 100% Overclock: 1 day 9 hours 20 minutes per Nuclear Pasta

Keep in mind, overclocking can drastically increase your power consumption, so ensure your power grid is up to the task.
Tips for Efficient Operation
1. Instead of relying on a single unit, build multiple Particle Accelerators. This not only increases your output but allows you to distribute power consumption more effectively.
2. Invest in Power Storages and consider underclocking your Accelerators to balance power use. For instance, running two Accelerators at 50% capacity can reduce overall power consumption by around 30%.
3. Due to its large size, make sure to plan your layout carefully. Avoid placing other buildings directly around the Accelerator to ensure smooth operations.
Building a Particle Accelerator in Satisfactory Release 1.0 is no small feat. It requires careful planning, substantial resources, and a robust power supply. But once you get it up and running, you’ll unlock some of the game’s most advanced crafting recipes.
