How to Build a Geothermal Generator in Satisfactory Release 1.0
Hey, fellow pioneers! Ready to harness the power of the earth and supercharge your factory? Here’s how to build a Geothermal Generator in Satisfactory Release 1.0! This generator taps into geysers to deliver some serious energy output, so let’s jump right in and get you generating power.
What is a Geothermal Generator?
The Geothermal Generator is an awesome addition to your power grid, using geysers to create electricity. Depending on the type of geyser—impure, normal, or pure—you can generate anywhere from 50 to 600 megawatts of power. Just remember, the output isn’t stable and will fluctuate, but that’s part of the excitement!

Unlocking the Geothermal Generator
To get things rolling, you’ll need to unlock the Geothermal Generator through the Caterium Research tree in the MAM (Multi-Analyzer). You’ll require some materials: gather 100 High-Speed Connectors, 1000 Quickwire, and 50 Motors. Once you have these, head to the MAM and initiate your research!

Finding a Geyser
Now it’s time to locate a geyser. Equip your scanner and set it to scan for geysers. You’ll find these hot spots scattered across the map, emitting steam every few seconds. Choose the geyser that suits your needs based on its power output.

Building the Geothermal Generator
With your geyser selected, head to your building tab and find the Geothermal Generator in the power section. You’ll need the following materials to construct it: 10 Motors, 25 Modular Frames, 25 High-Speed Connectors, 50 Copper Sheets, and 250 Wire. Place the generator right on top of the geyser, ensuring the steam eruptions are visible above any foundations.

Power Production and Fluctuations
Once your generator is built, it will start converting geothermal energy into power. The output will fluctuate based on the geyser’s purity:
- Impure Geyser: Generates between 50-150 MW (average 100 MW).
- Normal Geyser: Generates between 100-300 MW (average 200 MW).
- Pure Geyser: Generates between 200-600 MW (average 400 MW).

The power output fluctuates in cycles lasting about one minute. To smooth out these fluctuations, consider using Power Storages. You’ll need about 0.5 Power Storages for each impure geyser, 1 for each normal, and 2 for each pure.
Connecting to Your Power Network
After building your generator and setting up Power Storages, connect everything to your power grid. Use power lines to link your Geothermal Generator to your factory, and watch your power levels soar. It’s satisfying to see those numbers rise!

Tips for Success
1.If you find multiple geysers nearby, feel free to build additional Geothermal Generators. Just remember, their outputs can vary, so mixing purities can help stabilize your overall power generation.
2. Keep track of the fluctuating power levels. If you notice dips, you might need more Power Storages or additional generators.

3. Position your generators to optimize space while ensuring you can still see those geyser eruptions.
4. These generators can provide an initial boost to your power supply while you expand and optimize your factory.
Building a Geothermal Generator is a fantastic way to add a reliable power source to your setup in Satisfactory Release 1.0. With the right materials, location, and planning, you’ll harness the earth’s energy and keep your machines running smoothly. Start building, and enjoy the benefits of geothermal power!
