How to Beat Zoe & Grizzbolt in Palworld (Tower of the Rayne Syndicate)

Card showing Zoe & Grizzbolt tower boss details: Level 10, Electric, weak to Ground, at 111, -431.

Zoe & Grizzbolt is the first tower boss in Palworld and your introduction to how tower fights work — timed, two-phase, and unforgiving if you walk in with the wrong element. At Level 10 it is designed as an entry-level challenge, but plenty of players lose their first attempt by bringing Water Pals to an Electric fight. Here is how to clear it cleanly.

This is the introductory tower, the first of nine, and the gentlest of the set. It is also the fight that teaches the pattern every later tower repeats.

Bring Ground Damage

Grizzbolt is Electric, and Electric is weak to Ground. That matchup roughly doubles your damage, which on a timed fight is the difference between clearing comfortably and running out of clock.

    Counters from Palworld 1.0's roster:

  • Sekhmet — Ground, 790 – 997 Attack at Level 80, found at Level 37 – 42 in the desert region. If you are over-levelled and coming back for a clean clear, this is the pick.
  • Aegidron — Dragon/Ground, 850 – 1,075 Attack, and its partner skill grants the party immunity to Stun plus 60% less explosive damage.
  • Moldron — Fire/Ground, 850 – 1,075 Attack, with a volcanic population from Level 32.
  • Bulldosu — Ground, and critically its partner skill makes the party take 15% less Electric damage and be immune to Electrify. Against an Electric boss that is a direct counter to the fight's main threat.

Do not bring Water Pals. Electric beats Water, and you will be fighting at half damage while taking extra.

What Beating It Gets You

Card explaining what clearing the Rayne Syndicate tower unlocks.

  • Progression past the first region. Tower bosses are Palworld's main gate, and this is the first one.
  • It counts toward the World Tree. In Palworld 1.0, the endgame World Tree region opens after you have worked through the tower bosses. Every tower you clear is a step toward Level 80 content, the ancient technology tier and Radiant Gem farming.
  • Grizzbolt drops Leather at a 100% rate (2 – 3 per kill), which feeds every early armor set and, further down the chain, High Quality Cloth.

How to Actually Win

Card listing fight tips for the Zoe and Grizzbolt encounter.

  1. Bring Ground damage. This is the whole fight. Electric folds to Ground, and nothing else you do matters as much.
  2. Put Bulldosu in the party if you have one. Immunity to Electrify plus 15% less Electric damage removes the mechanic that actually kills people here.
  3. Use the dodge. Palworld 1.0's combat overhaul added a proper dodge roll and dodge step. Grizzbolt's attacks are telegraphed and dodgeable.
  4. Watch the timer. Tower fights are timed, and 1.0 made tower bosses faster — a shorter fight, but a shorter window too. Wrong element means running out of clock, not just taking longer.
  5. Stock healing. The human phase can hit harder than expected relative to your level at 10.

If you are struggling at Level 10, coming back at Level 15 – 20 with a Ground Pal turns this into a formality. There is no penalty for being over-levelled on the first tower.

Practical tips

  • Ground beats Electric. Bring it, and skip Water Pals entirely.
  • Bulldosu's Electrify immunity is the most direct counter to this specific fight.
  • Tower fights are timed — element advantage buys you clock, not just damage.
  • The 1.0 dodge roll works here. Grizzbolt's attacks are readable.
  • Grizzbolt drops Leather at 100%, so the fight restocks your early armor materials.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Tower bosses are the natural thing to do together, and a group beats a timed fight far more comfortably than a solo player. Conclusion

Zoe & Grizzbolt is Palworld's first tower boss — Level 10, Electric, weak to Ground, at coordinates 111, -431 in the Windswept Hills. Bring Ground damage and leave your Water Pals at home; Bulldosu is the ideal party member because its partner skill grants immunity to Electrify and cuts Electric damage by 15%. Use the 1.0 dodge, watch the timer, and remember this is the first of nine towers that together open the World Tree endgame.
