How to activate Gale Reactor in Abiotic Factor
The Gale Reactor is one of the most dangerous and complex areas in Abiotic Factor. Built over an underground lake, this facility is a warzone, with Gatekeepers and Order soldiers locked in constant battle. On top of that, the area is in ruins, with collapsed floors, missing walkways, and entire sections completely flooded.

Reaching the Gale Reactor
Getting to the Gale Reactor is tricky. The tram system that used to connect it to other locations is broken, meaning you’ll have to find an alternative way in. The easiest method is using a Jetpack or a Gravity Cube to launch yourself to the entrance, but if you don’t have those, you’ll need to get creative.

Some players have built makeshift bridges using deployable objects like shelves, while others have used the Hard Light Bridge. This requires digital gold, arcane scrap, and flickering eyes from Mystagogues, so if you don’t have the materials yet, you might need to go scavenging first. Once you’re inside, get ready, because the fight starts almost immediately.

Surviving the Battlezone
The first thing you’ll notice when you enter Gale Reactor is the chaos. The entire facility is a battlefield, with Gatekeepers and Order forces engaged in full-scale combat. You can take advantage of this by letting them weaken each other before stepping in, or you can go in guns blazing. Either way, you’ll need heavy firepower, strong armor, and plenty of healing supplies. The enemies here are aggressive and will shoot on sight, so staying in cover is crucial. If you have a sniper rifle, you can take out key targets from a distance before moving in. The real problem, however, isn’t just the soldiers - it’s the environment itself.
Dealing with the flooded Reactor
Much of the Gale Reactor is underwater, which means you’ll need diving gear to explore certain sections. If you didn’t bring any, you’ll have to backtrack and find some before progressing. While swimming, keep an eye out for strange creatures lurking in the depths. Something is moving down there, and it’s not friendly. There are also submerged tunnels that may lead to hidden rooms or shortcuts, so it’s worth taking the time to explore. One of the most important things to find is a power cell, which is necessary for restoring energy to the facility.
Solving the Activation Sequence
The reactor itself is locked behind multiple security measures, so you’ll need to disable them one by one. The first step is unlocking the doors leading to the control room. Some of these require keypads, and if you don’t already have the necessary codes, you might need to search the area for notes or terminals that provide hints. Once inside, you’ll find a massive switchboard with multiple levers and buttons. It’s not as simple as just pressing them all - you’ll need to follow a sequence. If you get it wrong, expect alarms and even more enemies rushing in to stop you.

Finalizing the Activation
Once the correct sequence is entered, the reactor begins powering up, but the fight isn’t over. The moment the reactor comes online, the area is swarmed with more enemies, and automated defenses may activate.

If you’re lucky, some of the enemies might attack each other, but in most cases, you’ll be the primary target. The best strategy is to immediately move to an escape route. If you’ve unlocked shortcuts earlier, now’s the time to use them. If you’re stuck, fight your way through, using grenades or heavy weapons to clear a path.

The Gale Reactor is one of the most intense locations in Abiotic Factor, requiring combat skills, environmental awareness, and puzzle-solving to restore power. Between the ongoing battle between factions, the collapsed and flooded structure, and the final wave of enemies during activation, it’s a test of endurance and strategy. If you’ve managed to get through it and bring the reactor online, congratulations—you’ve just tackled one of the hardest challenges in the game. But don’t get too comfortable. The real danger is still ahead.
