Goblin Diplomacy in Dragonwilds: Two Reliquaries, and You Only Get One

Goblin Diplomacy has a design decision at its centre that most quests do not: there are two Bandosian amulets in two locations, and you can only ever loot one. The one you do not reach first is stolen by a garou druid, and you then have to go and take it back. The choice of which to visit first is therefore a real one — and one of the two options is meaningfully easier.
Quest Details

| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Type | Secondary |
| Start | Speak to Zanik on the ridge in Bramblemead Valley overlooking the Whispering Swamp — or by finding one of the two Bandosian amulets |
| Requires | Rune Mysteries |
| Items needed | A logging axe and 20 Woodcutting (only if searching the guild reliquary); one steak (only if bribing a caged goblin) |
| Recommended | Good armour and weapons — ranged or magic for the garou druid — antipoison potions, air runes for Windstep, food and water, and 32 stone, 20 rune essence and 1 vault core for a lodestone |
| Enemies | Multiple Goblins, a Garou druid |
| Reward | Goblin war banner |
Note that both item requirements are conditional. The axe and 20 Woodcutting are only needed if you go for the guild reliquary, and the steak is only needed if you take the optional shortcut. It is possible to complete the quest carrying neither.
Build the Lodestone First
The recommendation list includes 32 stone, 20 rune essence and 1 vault core — the cost of a lodestone — and the walkthrough is explicit about why:
It is recommended that you place a lodestone at Zanik's location, as you'll have to come back to Zanik to complete the quest.
This is the single best piece of advice in the quest. You return to Zanik at the end, and without a lodestone that is a full walk back from wherever the garou druid took the second amulet. Twenty minutes of gathering saves considerably more than twenty minutes of travel.
Choose the Ruins, Not the Guild

Zanik senses the prophecy in two places: the Outlook Ruins to the north-east and the Adventurer's Guild to the south. Both hold a reliquary with a Bandosian amulet. Only the first one you search can be looted — the other amulet is stolen by a garou druid before you arrive.
| Outlook Ruins | Adventurer's Guild | |
|---|---|---|
| Reliquary | Tucked away in a corner | Blocked by thorny vines |
| Requirement | None | 20 Woodcutting to cut through |
| Goblins | Fewer | More — it is the more dangerous of the two |
| Caged goblin outside | Bilegut | Wormelbow |
Take the ruins first. The wiki recommends it outright, and the reasoning is straightforward: the guild reliquary is gated behind 20 Woodcutting you may not have, and the guild itself holds more goblins. Going to the ruins first means you loot the easy one and fight your way to the hard one afterwards — with the amulet already banked.
The Steak Shortcut
Outside each location sits a caged goblin — Bilegut at the Outlook Ruins, Wormelbow at the Adventurer's Guild. Speak to either before obtaining a Bandosian amulet and they will offer to tell you the exact location of that reliquary in exchange for a steak.
This is optional. Both reliquaries can be found without help, and the quest's item list flags the steak as conditional for exactly that reason. But if you dislike searching, one cooked steak removes the search entirely — and a steak is cheap by the time you have Rune Mysteries behind you.
The offer expires once you have an amulet, so trade before you loot, not after.
The Garou Druid

The second amulet is held by a garou druid, and the quest's recommendations name it directly: ranged or magic weapons, and antipoison potions.
That matches what the druid actually is. The Garou Druid is weak to Fire, resistant to Crush, and immune to Poison, with a poisoned magic dart that deals both physical and poison damage. It sits at 292 health in the Fractured Plains and Bloodblight Swamp, or 405 in the Stormtouched Highlands.
Two things follow:
- Drink the antipoison before you engage. Resistance in this game is applied when the effect is created and ignored on every tick afterwards — mead or potion drunk after the dart lands does nothing for the poison already running.
- Do not answer poison with poison. The druid is immune.
The quest recommends ranged or magic, though the druid's own strategy notes suggest closing the distance limits its attacks. Both work; the ranged approach is safer if you are under-geared.
Running your own Dragonwilds server
A quest with a lodestone recommendation is a quest that assumes you are coming back, and coming back needs a world that stayed up. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps Ashenfall persistent with automatic updates and one-click backups.
Conclusion
Goblin Diplomacy requires Rune Mysteries and starts with Zanik on the ridge in Bramblemead Valley. Its defining mechanic is that two reliquaries hold Bandosian amulets and only the first one you search can be looted — the other is stolen by a garou druid you then have to hunt. Search the Outlook Ruins first: its reliquary sits in a corner with no requirement, while the Adventurer's Guild reliquary is behind thorny vines needing 20 Woodcutting and the guild holds more goblins. Outside each sits a caged goblin — Bilegut and Wormelbow — who will name the exact reliquary location for one steak, an optional trade that expires once you hold an amulet. Build a lodestone at Zanik first, since the quest ends where it began. And prepare for the druid properly: it is weak to Fire, resistant to Crush and immune to Poison, throws a poisoned magic dart, and your antipoison has to be active before the hit lands, not after. The reward is the Goblin war banner.
