Focused Potions in Dragonwilds: All Four Tiers, and the Two That Are Identical

A player casting pink magic in a Dragonwilds forest.

Dragonwilds has experience potions for ten skills, and each one comes in four tiers — Weak, Lesser, regular and Super. What separates them is not a single strength number but two independent ones: the boost and the clock. The result is a ladder where two of the four tiers give exactly the same total experience, and only one is unambiguously the best.

The Four Tiers

Card comparing the four tiers of Focused potion in Dragonwilds.

TierXP boostDurationPerk granted
Weak Focused+15%300 s (5 min)Focused [Skill]
Lesser Focused+15%600 s (10 min)Focused [Skill]
Focused+30%300 s (5 min)Focused [Skill] II
Super Focused+30%600 s (10 min)Focused [Skill] II

Read that as a two-by-two rather than a ladder. Weak is the floor. Lesser doubles the clock. The regular potion doubles the rate instead. Super does both.

Lesser and Focused deliver identical total experience. Fifteen percent over ten minutes and thirty percent over five multiply out to the same figure — so the middle two rungs are not an upgrade over each other, they are a choice about pacing.

Super Focused is the only tier that is strictly better than everything below it. Same 30% as the regular potion, but for the full ten minutes. If you can make it, there is no argument for anything else.

How Each One Is Made

Card showing how each Focused potion tier is crafted in Dragonwilds.

TierWhereIngredients (Mining line shown)
Weak FocusedBrewing CauldronMarrentill, animal bone, clay vessel
Lesser FocusedBrewing CauldronSnapdragon, sandstone, clay vessel
FocusedBrewing CauldronIrit, coarse animal fur, glass vessel
Super FocusedImbuing BarrelA Focused potion, imbued

The vessel is the tell. Weak and Lesser use a fired clay vessel; the regular potion steps up to a glass vessel. If a recipe is asking for glass, you are brewing the 30% version.

Super Focused does not come from the cauldron at all. It is made by putting a finished Focused potion into an imbuing barrel — so the top tier is a second processing step on an existing potion, not a separate recipe. That also means every Super potion costs you a full Focused potion first.

Stack limits differ. Weak, Lesser and regular potions stack to 50; Super Focused stacks to 99, which is a quiet convenience once you are brewing them in bulk.

Covered Skills

Card listing the skills covered by Focused potions in Dragonwilds.

The Focused line covers ten skills:

  • Combat — Attack
  • Gathering — Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, Farming
  • Crafting — Artisan, Construction, Cooking, Runecrafting
  • Movement — Agility

Ten skills across four tiers is forty Focused potions in total — which is why the potion list looks so much longer than the number of distinct effects in it.

There is no Focused potion for Magic or Ranged. Attack is the only combat skill with an experience potion, so a magic or bow build has no equivalent to drink. If you are training either, an Inspiring trinket is your only experience boost.

The perk name tells you which tier you drank. A Weak or Lesser potion grants Focused Mining; the regular and Super versions grant Focused Mining II. If you see a II in the buff bar, you are on 30%.

The failure mode is the same at every tier, and it is travel. A five-minute potion spent walking to the node is half wasted. Arrive first, then drink, then start — that habit is worth more than a tier upgrade.

Practical tips

  • Four tiers: Weak (+15%/300 s), Lesser (+15%/600 s), Focused (+30%/300 s), Super (+30%/600 s).
  • Lesser and Focused give identical total XP — pick by pacing, not power.
  • Super Focused is strictly the best and is made in an imbuing barrel from a Focused potion.
  • Glass vessel = the 30% recipe; clay vessel = the 15% ones.
  • A "II" in the buff name means you are on 30%.
  • Ten skills covered — no Focused potion exists for Magic or Ranged.
  • Arrive at the node before you drink. Travel time is potion time.

Running your own Dragonwilds server

Timed buffs reward uninterrupted sessions, which is exactly what a persistent world gives a group — nobody waits for a host, and a five-minute potion is not spent on loading in. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps the world live between sessions with one-click backups and automatic updates, so your skilling time is skilling time.

Conclusion

Dragonwilds' experience potions come in four tiers built from two numbers: Weak Focused at +15% for 300 seconds, Lesser Focused at +15% for 600, Focused at +30% for 300, and Super Focused at +30% for 600. The middle two are not an upgrade over each other — they deliver identical total experience and differ only in pacing — while Super Focused is strictly the best of the four, made in an imbuing barrel from a finished Focused potion rather than in the cauldron. The vessel gives the recipe away: clay for the 15% tiers, glass for 30%, and a II in the buff name confirms which you drank. The line covers ten skills — every gathering and crafting skill plus Attack and Agility — with nothing for Magic or Ranged. And whichever you brew, drink after you arrive, because the timer does not care that you are still walking.
