Every Currency in Dragonwilds: Three Fragments, No Gold, and Two Shops You Clear

RuneScape without gold pieces sounds wrong, but Dragonwilds does not have a main currency. The wiki puts it plainly: "There is no main form of currency in the game, as only five known shops take different currencies."
What exists instead is three regional currencies, each earned in one region and spent in that region's shop — and two of those shops have a published total price to buy everything once.
The Three Currencies

| Currency | Region | Earned from | Spent at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soul fragments | Fellhollow | Killing undead, completing regional quests, mining soul stones | Death's Exchange |
| Infernal fragments | Dowdun Reach | Killing Black Knights and demons, completing regional quests | Evil Emporium |
| Garou chits | Umbral Sands | Gathering and selling throughout the region | Umbral Sands merchants |
Both fragment types weigh 0.0 and stack to 9,999, so there is no carrying cost and no reason to bank them.
Neither converts into the other. A full purse of soul fragments buys nothing in Dowdun Reach. Each region's economy is closed, which means finishing a region's shop is a regional project rather than a global one.
Soul fragments have the broadest sources. Beyond undead kills they come from chests within Fellhollow and from mining the soul stones found in spectral doors — which is why Fellhollow feels the most generous of the three.
Infernal fragments come from a specific enemy list: lesser demons, hellhounds, hellrats, Black Knights, Zamorakian acolytes, Mages of Zamorak and shardbound lesser demons, plus chests in Dowdun Reach.
Death's Exchange
Death — Harold Death Esquire — stands in the Forgotten Temple, and his shop sells vestiges: recipe unlocks rather than finished gear.
| Tab | Items | Prices |
|---|---|---|
| Armour | 9 pieces | 200–400 each |
| Trinkets | 5 | 350, and 800 for the Sigil of a Phoenix |
| Capes | 9 Moth Eaten cloths | 150 each |
| Miscellaneous | Salve Crystal, two mounts | 25, and 2,000 per mount |
The wiki states you need 6,775 soul fragments to buy every item once, excluding the repeatable Salve Crystal after Seeking Salvation is complete.
That figure does not reconcile with the listed prices. Adding the published costs gives 2,700 for armour, 2,200 for trinkets and 1,350 for capes — 6,250, or 6,275 with the Salve Crystal, and the two mounts sit at 2,000 each on top. The stated total is 500 higher than the itemised one. Treat 6,775 as the wiki's figure rather than a verified sum, and budget from the individual prices.
The Salve Crystal at 25 fragments is the outlier worth noting: it is the one item that can be bought repeatedly, once Seeking Salvation is done.
The Evil Emporium

Postie Pete — a talking skull with a satchel — runs the Evil Emporium in The Courtyard, Dowdun Reach.
| Tab | Items | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Armour | 9 pieces at 200–400 | 2,700 |
| Weapons | 5 at 300 each | 1,500 |
| Capes | 10 at 150 each | 1,500 |
| Decoration | 5 Plan Bundles at 250 each — Armadyl, Bandos, Guthix, Saradomin, Zamorak flags | 1,250 |
| Miscellaneous | 2 mounts at 2,000 | 4,000 |
The wiki's stated total is 6,950 infernal fragments to buy everything once — and here the arithmetic checks out exactly: 2,700 + 1,500 + 1,500 + 1,250 = 6,950, with the two 2,000-fragment mounts excluded.
That confirms the convention: these shop totals cover the gear, capes and decorations, and treat the 2,000-fragment mounts as separate purchases. Which in turn suggests the Death's Exchange figure is simply carrying an error.
Postie Pete does more than sell. He is north of the Forgotten Temple, explains how to enter Fellhollow through soul rifting, and starts the secondary quest Letters for the Dead.
Budgeting a Region

- Treat each region as a closed economy. Fragments do not convert, so clearing a shop means grinding in that region specifically.
- Budget the mounts separately. At 2,000 fragments each and four mounts across the two shops, mounts cost 8,000 — more than either full shop clear.
- Capes are the cheapest completion. 150 fragments each, nine at Death's Exchange and ten at the Evil Emporium.
- Do Seeking Salvation for the Salve Crystal. At 25 fragments and repeatable, it is the only sustainable purchase either shop offers.
- Do not trust a single stated total. The Evil Emporium's 6,950 sums exactly; Death's 6,775 does not. Price from the item lists.

Conclusion
Dragonwilds has no main currency — the wiki says so directly — but three regional ones: soul fragments from Fellhollow's undead, quests and soul stones, spent at Death's Exchange in the Forgotten Temple; infernal fragments from Dowdun Reach's demons and Black Knights, spent at Postie Pete's Evil Emporium in The Courtyard; and garou chits in the Umbral Sands. Both fragments weigh 0.0 and stack to 9,999, and neither converts, so each region is a closed economy. The Evil Emporium's stated 6,950 total checks out exactly — 2,700 armour + 1,500 weapons + 1,500 capes + 1,250 decoration, with its two 2,000-fragment mounts excluded — while Death's Exchange's stated 6,775 is 500 above its own listed prices, which sum to 6,275 including the Salve Crystal. Budget from the item lists rather than the totals, treat the four 2,000-fragment mounts as an 8,000-fragment project of their own, and complete Seeking Salvation for the repeatable 25-fragment Salve Crystal.
