Decorations in Dragonwilds: 240 Pieces Across 15 Categories, and 46 Are Flags

A decorated base interior in Dragonwilds.

Dragonwilds' Build Menu carries a Decoration section that most players open once, scroll past, and never use properly. It holds 240 individual pieces across 15 categories — and the distribution is not what you would guess. The largest category is Banners & Flags at 46 entries, nearly a fifth of everything, while Plants has three and Seasonal has one.

The three largest categories — Banners & Flags, Processed Materials and Basic Materials — account for 113 of the 240, just under half. Two of those three are essentially your own industry on display: nuggets, bins and bars.

The Materials Categories Are Your Smelter, Framed

Basic Materials (28) and Processed Materials (39) together are 67 pieces — more than a quarter of the whole decoration library — and they follow one repeating pattern per metal:

  • Small nugget, medium nugget, small bin for each raw ore — Copper, Tin, Iron, Silver and onward
  • A single bar, a small bar pile, a large bar pile for each smelted metal — Bronze, Iron, Silver and up

That is a three-piece set per material at each stage, which is why the counts are so high without the category feeling large in use. The practical consequence is that a workshop decorated in its own outputs scales with your progression: you unlock better decoration for a room by smelting better metal in it, not by finding a new recipe.

Banners, Flags and the Gods

Banners & Flags is the single biggest decoration category at 46 pieces, and it is organised by deity. The pattern per god is six numbered flags and three numbered banners — Zamorak, Guthix, Armadyl and Bandos all appear with their own sets.

Nine pieces per god across roughly five gods accounts for most of the 46. That makes this the category to reach for when you want a room to say something: a hall hung with one god's colours reads as an allegiance in a way that no other decoration in the game does, and the numbered variants let you avoid a repeating pattern along a long wall.

The Region and Faction Sets

Four categories are tied to specific content rather than to a material or a theme:

CategoryPiecesWhat it is
Ancient Dragonkin10Gargoyles, obelisks, statues and vault pieces
Garou15Wall banners, drums, hanging ornaments, wall pelts, stools, trophies
Moon Garou11Cushions and the desert vase collections — small, medium and large
Fellhollow7Headstones, four graves and a Spectral Book

The Fellhollow set is the most specific thing in the library — four grave variants and two headstones. There is exactly one use for it and the game knows what it is.

The Moon Garou entries overlap with the desert theme rather than the wolf one, which is worth knowing if you are searching for vases and looking in the wrong place. The ordinary Garou set is the pelts-and-drums one.

The Two That Do Something Else

Literature (21) is the Skill Tomes, each in a flat and a Standing variant — Artisan, Attack, Construction and the rest of the skill list. Two display forms per skill accounts for the count. Displaying tomes is the tidiest way to make a study room read as a study room, and it puts your skill list on the wall.

Trophies (11) are the Pristine fish — Armoured Catfish, Herring, Infernal Eel, Salmon, Sardine, Lobster, Trout and more. These are earned rather than crafted, which makes them the only decoration category that is also a progress record. A wall of Pristine trophies is a fishing log you can walk past.

Carpets (8) and Shelves & Cabinets (6) round out the furnishing side, with the Moon Garou carpets appearing in rolled and standing variants alongside the laid-out ones — three forms of the same rug, which is a level of detail the rest of the library does not bother with.

And Seasonal has exactly one entry: the Wintumber Tree. If it is not December, that category is empty.

Running your own Dragonwilds server

Decorating is the slowest thing you will do in Ashenfall, and the one most obviously wasted if the world resets. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps your base persistent with automatic updates and one-click backups.

Conclusion

Dragonwilds' Decoration menu holds 240 pieces across 15 categories, and the distribution is lopsided: Banners & Flags leads at 46, followed by Processed Materials at 39 and Basic Materials at 28 — those three alone are 113 pieces, just under half the library. The two materials categories repeat a three-piece set per metal (small nugget, medium nugget, bin for ores; bar, small pile, large pile for bars), which means a workshop decorated in its own output improves as your smelting does. Banners are organised by deity at roughly six flags and three banners per god across Zamorak, Guthix, Armadyl and Bandos, making them the only decoration that states an allegiance. Four categories are content-specific — Ancient Dragonkin (10), Garou (15), Moon Garou (11, which is the desert vase set rather than the wolf one) and Fellhollow (7, entirely graves and headstones). Literature (21) is the Skill Tomes in flat and Standing forms, and Trophies (11) are the Pristine fish, the only decoration category that doubles as a progress record. Seasonal contains one item: the Wintumber Tree.
